We honestly don't understand how someone can do such cruel things to animals. It's wrong, unforgivable, and ridiculous. 55 year old, Valarie Christine Harris, was charged for a third time for animal cruelty. She was in possession of 30 horses (3 were dead), 31 dogs, donkeys, mules, a cat, and a llama. The animals were spread out among the property, either dead or starving.
A couple years ago, pretty close to where we live, 34 cats were found in an abandoned house. They all had to be put down. In another case close to where we live, a man shot his neighbor's dog.
Animal Abuse

How much do you love your pets? We love our pets for sure! Animal abuse is a stupid excuse to feel like you're in charge. Most people love their pets unconditionally, but there's those select few out there that enjoy hurting harmless animals and pets. So who says we try and help prevent it? We do! So these are just a few ways that we've thought of to try and prevent these acts of cruelty:
*Volunteer at an animal shelter.
*Join an animal rescue club.
*Get involved in your government and try to get some stricter laws passed.
*But the easiest way to prevent this, keep your own pets safe.
Feel free to comment and tell us about some of your own pets!:)

"We cannot have peace among men whose hearts find delight in killing any living creature." - Rachel Carson
We think that what this quote basically means is that as long as there is animal abuse, there will also be murdering among humans. But also, we think this quote should be altered to this-
"We cannot have peace among men who find delight in killing any living creature."
People who find pleasure in killing an animal don't have a heart at all.
"Non-violence leads to the highest ethics, which is the goal of all evolution. Until we stop harming all other living beings, we are still savages." - Thomas Edison
We think Thomas Edison is one of the best people to have borrowed a quote from. He is one of the smartest people to have ever been born. He means, you're only at your best when you're not harming others. It has always been a goal of the world to not resort to violence, but yet there's still people out there that do... Think about it.

Statistics!
To try and stop animal abuse, you have to first be educated about it! 70% of people who have been arrested for animal abuse also have records of other violent crimes, from child or spouse abuse to homicide. One hundred million animals are hurt or killed every year from chemical, drug, and cosmetic tests, biology tests, and just regular abuse. Also, millions of adorable animals are killed for clothing every year. 45 states have felony provisions for animal abuse. Hopefully, soon this number will be 50. Dog fighting is currently forbidden in ALL 50 states. I believe dog fighting is definitely considered animal abuse even if you are not the one hurting the dog.

Dolly is a female pit bull. She was put in a shelter in October 2009, because she was scheduled to be put down at a local city pound. She was going to be put down because she is blind; her head was cracked with a baseball bat; she had possible brain damage; her right ear was hanging off, and was lit on fire judging by the burns on her body.
They had her spayed and her head, ears and body are long healed, but she is permanently blind.
Dolly ended up happy thanks to the volunteers who rescued her and treated her for her injuries. Dolly is just one animal the is a victim of animal abuse.
To report animal abuse, you can call 888-523-PETS.
